Abstract
|
|
|
Objectives: This study examines the theory and analyzes empirical data on the resilience of the victims of sexual violence.
Method: The author delved into the theoretical literature on, and research studies of, resilience among those who have experienced sexual violence.
Results: Resilience among victims of sexual violence can best be understood both theoretically and in terms of risk and protective factors.
Conclusions: An in-depth understanding of the theoretical and research literature on resilience can prepare family therapists to provided improved services for the victims of sexual violence.
